CHIZZLE ¢heck$ (2002)

The first solo project created by one half of The Starving Artists. Michelangelos’ CHIZZLE was an alias created after enduring life in the working class. Receiving paychecks instead of grades forced The Starving Artists’ Michelangelo to reevaluate his ideas about the world he lived in. Production began after being laid off during the 2001 holiday season. This EP basically documents the events from November 26th 2001 through June 6th 2002.

A chronological tracklisting displays battles with excessive partying, love, and a religious awakening. Written, produced, and performed by CHIZZLE throughout a Philadelphia neighborhood called East Falls, this album picks up where Artlife left off and finishes with an optimistic view of what is yet to come.

Several guest producers commited to a collaboration track along with friends who apperaed in small dialouge and instrumentation cameos. Various musicians also supplied equiptment such as guitars, keyboards, and effects pedals. Photographers also lended their eye to help create an elaborate CD packaging. Even though a solo album, many people dedicated their time in creating the final product.

During this creation process CHIZZLE also began working with a rock and roll band called Downtown Harvest under yet another alias MC Key. After performing and selling copies of the album Michelangelo began his life on the road and moved to Edwards Colorado leaving behind a deeply personal album, friends, family, and music all together. The CHIZZLE persona recorded his last song, “CHIZZLE CHRISTMAS” on December 24th 2002. (not for profit)
